The Panther Football team moved to 2-0 by defeating San Antonio Christian by the score of 22-20. The Panthers are on the road this week at Antonio on Friday night. Game time is 7:30. Come support the Panthers!

The Navarro High School chapter of SkillsUSA is currently having a membership drive. Any student that has previously taken any culinary arts course or is currently taking Principles of Hospitality and Tourism, Restaurant Management, Culinary Arts, or Practicum in Culinary Arts can join our chapter. We will be meeting after school from 3:40 to 5:00 one to two days per week. Please see Mrs. Gerhardt to sign up.
Yearbooks are here and can be picked up after school in Room 303. We have a few extras and they can be purchased for $65.
Attention FFA members: doe goat validation will be Wednesday, Sept. 8th from 4-6 at Marion High School. This is the validation for breeding goats. This is not the validation for market goats.
If you are interested in joining the Drug Awareness Counsel sign up in the Counselor's Office. The first meeting will be tomorrow, Wed., Sept. 8th right after school in the High School Library. Don't Forget! This is a great opportunity to earn community service hours for college.
Show off your academic skills! Earn large scholarships! Sign up for UIL Academics. The UIL sign up poster is in the English hallway by room 209. Sign up for any event you would like to compete in by tomorrow. If you need information on an event or the UIL Academic competition, see Mrs. Haygood.
Senior who have a B grade average or better and participate in at least one school sponsored sport are eligible to apply for the Wendy's High School Heisman Scholarship. The award honors both male and female high school students who excel in academics, athletics and student leadership. If you are interested come to
Students that are interested in being a Big Brother or Big Sister to Elementary or Intermediate school students need to come sign up in the Counselor's Office. You will be interviewed by the Big Brother/Sister organization and you must be willing to give up time after school to meet with these students. It will look really good on your college resume and will count towards hours for National Honor Society if done within the parameters of after school.

Our first Student Council meeting will be Wednesday morning at 7:30. If you would like to be in Student Council, you MUST attend unless you let Mrs. Pesek know you will not be there.
