Congratulations to members if the Panther Band for bringing home their
5th consecutive UIL Sweepstakes Award after contest held on Tuesday.
The band received straight 1st Division ratings from the three judges on
the Concert stage and then received straight 1st Division ratings from
another set of judges in the Sight Reading room.  These two "over all"
1st Divisions, combined with the 1st Division the band earned at UIL Marching

Award.  The band's program included:  "Regimental Honor"  by John Moss,
"A Sailor's Odyssey" by David Bobrowitz and "Thematic Variations on Dona
Nobis Pacem" by James Sudduth.  The judges comments were very
complimentary and included: "So very MUSICAL!   You make the music
come alive!", "I think you do a super job of capturing the intent of your
selections",   "Very well taught, rehearsed and prepared for performance".
The Panther Band now will begin to prepare for a performance at
